Ship Berthing Safety Assessment Based on Ship-Handling Simulator

As the development of ship building technologies, ships have been becoming larger and larger. a result, existing ports waterways can not meet requirements safe navigation, berthing unberthing operations large ships. In order to ensure for ships, wharf need be rebuilt, also it is necessary check whether rebuilt navigation needs. this paper, handling simulator used simulate pier. This paper establishes mathematical model motions, generates virtual environment, applies concepts track zone width, potential water area, utility function risk operation, makes comprehensive analysis width channel, manoeuvring waters safety puts forward some objective reasonable suggestions on berthing. By practical application ship-handling evaluate unberthing, shows that method based objective, feasible analyze engineering, has good value application.
